Hello Landels Families!

We are off to a great 2019-20 school year!  You will be receiving a plethora of information this evening during Back to School Night.  Part of this information will include iReady diagnostics and lessons.  Throughout this past week and next week, our students will be taking a reading and math iReady diagnostic.  This on-line, adaptive diagnostic produces data that we will use to differentiate and personalize the learning of our students.  The diagnostic will be given three times a year to measure student growth.  In addition to the diagnostic, each student will receive 20 personalized lessons in their on-line queue.  They will be working on these lessons during school hours and can also complete them at home.  You can ask your child to log on using Clever so you can check out this learning platform.  Hope to see you all there!

School Site Council

We are actively seeking members for the school site council for this year.We need parents to join in and have a voice. I have included a brief description of the council and would love for as many of you to join as possible. Our first meeting will be held on Monday, September 16 at 5:30 p.m.Hope to see you there!

Purpose of meetings: The school site council is a group of teachers, parents, and classified employees that works with the principal to develop, review and evaluate school improvement programs and school budgets. Over the course of a year, a typical council might consider the goals of the school or district and then work with the principal to evaluate the school’s progress toward those goals. We really appreciate the input of all members of our community including our parents. It makes a cohesive partnership.

Absence and Tardy Policy

Student attendance is important.  Please help your student to be in school and on time. Excused absences are limited to illness, doctor/dentist appointments, and bereavement. All other absences including travel will be considered unexcused. Once you have accrued three unexcused absences or unexcused tardies over thirty minutes you should expect a phone call from the office or principal.  Instruction begins first thing in the morning.  If your child arrives after 8:15am, he/she is tardy and must stop in the office for a tardy slip so he/she is not marked absent.  To report any absence, please call the 24-hour attendance voicemail line at 650-526-3520, press 2 before 9:00am each day your child is absent or email Barbara at [email protected].

Bathrooms

For the safety and privacy of our students, the bathrooms on the corridors are for student use only.  Adults should not enter these bathrooms.

Please use the bathrooms located in the MUR.
