Hello Landels Families!

Assessment and Report Cards

You will be receiving your child's report card on Friday, November 15th. It will be in an envelope in the backpack. If you have any questions or concerns about your child's grades, as always, please arrange to talk with the teacher so the teacher can give you more details. If you need interpretation, please let us know in the office and we will gladly help you.

The next iReady math and reading diagnostic assessment will be given in the month of December.  These data results, along with several other measures of your child's success, are used to guide our instruction and meet the needs of each child.

Toolbox - Social/Emotional Tools

This week during our Monday morning assembly, we talked about using your apology and forgiveness tool for not only others but for yourself.  If you make a mistake, you need to forgive yourself and learn from your mistake.  Too often do we see students at Landels who have a difficult time when making mistakes.  Please reiterate with your child the importance of making mistakes in the process of learning.  At Landels, we ask… What does it mean when you’re struggling?  You’re Learning!

Coming Soon!

Our main office will be housing all of our home-school connection activities for you to complete at home, if you’d like!  The activities are great for social-emotional learning and can be done as a family or one on one.  They will be located on the wall as you walk in to the right.  Look for this information in the next couple of weeks.

In November, Landels will be hosting a parent night with your children to talk about the Toolbox Tools, what they mean and how to use them.  Look for a date in an upcoming newsletter!

PowerSchool Parent Portal Access to prepare for open enrollment

The time for you to confirm your child’s enrollment for the next school year is coming up. Beginning Jan. 13, parents with students in grades TK-7 will be able to log on to the PowerSchool Parent Portal to enroll their children for 2020-21. Current eighth-grade parents should check their mail for Mountain View Los Altos Union High School District registration information.

By mid-November, you will be receiving an email containing your username for your PowerSchool Parent Portal Account with instructions. Many middle school parents currently use PowerSchool Parent Portal for elective selection and grades, assignments and attendance monitoring. Some elementary parents have accounts from past student enrollment processes.

Winter Clothes donation (we'll collect clothes until Monday, December 2)

It's finally time to get the warm clothes out of the closet!  If you find items that are too small for your kids, or you just don't want anymore, please bring to the Landels office and we will find them a good home.  Baby and adult clothes also in need.

Clean clothes please.  Nothing with stains or permanent damage. We will donate these items to families in need in our community.
Thank you.
