Principal’s Message from Heidi Galassi

Hello Landels Families!

Our annual walk-a-thon is next week Friday, October 19th!  Get your walking legs ready!

Also, all this week the book fair will be open from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. and on Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the MUR.  Your child took a tour of the book fair during the day with their classroom.  Ask your child if he or she has filled out the wish list.

After you pick out some books, come over for some pizza, lemonade and bubble fun during Family Fun Night!  This will take place at Landels from 6:15 - 7:00 p.m. followed by open play with the bubble makers!

Thanks to all of you who already signed up to volunteer before and after school and during lunch and recess using the following link:

We really appreciate your help!  When you arrive for duty, please grab a clipboard with our safety rules and ‘what to do if’ helpful tips.  Feel free to arrange a game of kickball or four-square.  Be creative!

GenerationOn is a club at Los Altos High School that strives to unite the local community through various projects. For their first project of the year, they are asking students in neighboring elementary and middle schools to help. They will be hosting a letter drive for Operation Gratitude, a renowned organization that sends millions of care packages to veterans, deployed troops, and first responders, on our campus from October 8th to October 19th. Please join us in giving back to those who have courageously served our country.  We have a box in the office on the table by the door to input the letters when completed.

Please join us on Wednesday, October 31 at 8:15am for our Halloween Parade.  Students will wear their costumes to school.   Please keep in mind that costumes should be appropriate for school.  This means no masks, weapons, or gore.  If your student doesn't celebrate Halloween, we will provide an alternative activity. Please contact the office if you have any questions.

Earthquake Drill Coming Up

The District will be conducting its annual earthquake exercise sometime during the week of Oct. 15. This is an opportunity for staff and students to test our emergency response actions and make improvements.  Oct. 15 is also the week of the Great ShakeOut, which is a good time to go over your family's emergency procedures. We appreciate your support of these efforts to ensure our students’ safety.

Lost and Found Cart

Our Lost and Found cart is overflowing with jackets, sweaters and lunch boxes. Please check the Lost and Found while you are on campus. We’ll donate all unclaimed items to a local charity next week.
