Landels News

Dear Landels Families,

We have wrapped up iReady testing and are looking through the results to make adjustments, especially as it relates to our language block. Many of our ELs and early readers have made significant progress in their language and reading skills but we still have lots of work ahead of us, especially if we want to continue on the path of positive growth. You will get a chance to see your child’s results on 12/20 - score reports will be sent out via email.

Community Input on Additional Arts and Music Funds

California schools will now get additional funding for arts and music each year. Our school will soon have an additional annual budget to spend on arts and music programs in addition to what we already offer. We need your ideas!

1. Please click here for a brief survey about potential future arts programming. (The students and staff will be given similar surveys at school). This survey will be open until December 15.

2. Come and hear more about Prop 28 and give input on this topic at these upcoming meetings:

SSC Meeting, December 16th @ 3pm

You will also be able to provide input on the district’s outdoor learning proposal for Landels (see mock-up).

Thank you!

Pieter Dolmans

Gift Cards

Dear Landels families,

The holidays are almost here, a time to spend with family and friends, to eat a nice dinner or two, to celebrate in different ways. But for some of our families in need, this is a difficult and stressful time. We are asking for donations of gift cards (Target or Safeway) to provide to some of our families. Please consider buying a gift card and dropping it off in the Landels office. We really appreciate our wonderful and generous community! We’ll be collecting gift cards until Tuesday, December 17.

Attendance

As we near the Holiday breaks, I want to remind families of the importance of students being at school every day. Chronic absenteeism has a lasting impact on a student’s academic, social and emotional development. We know there are many reasons students may need to miss school, but we ask that you plan your vacations so that you do not need to miss school. Thank you for prioritizing your child’s attendance.

Lost & Found

Is your child missing a sweater/jacket, lunch box, water bottle or umbrella? Our lost and found cart is overflowing with many items. Please take a moment after school or on the weekend to check out the lost & found cart located beside Room 6. Any leftover items will be donated 12.20.24.
