Landels News
Hello Landels Families,
Happy New Year and welcome back! Teachers spent Monday, January 6th developing plans to best support our English Learners as they prepare for ELPAC testing in February. We also discussed behavior and the importance of strong teacher-student relationships. At Landels, we work to ensure all students feel safe and welcome in the classroom and at school. As always, we are committed to providing the best learning environment that meets the diverse needs of our student population.
New Year, New Me
The new and improved Lanny paid us a visit during Morning Meeting today. We tied Lanny’s transformation to goal-setting - it’s important for all of us to set goals and work to improve ourselves. My goal as a parent is to remain calm and patient with my three little ones, even when they are pushing all the right buttons. As principal, my goal is to get into classrooms every day. You can take this opportunity to check in with your child on their goals or help them to create new goals. Click here to watch Lanny’s transformation and go to instagram or facebook to check out more of the action.
Thank you!
Pieter Dolmans

New Year, New Me: Updated Mascot
PTA is excited to re-introduce our mascot, Lanny the Lion to our students this week. As Lanny was getting ready for Winter Break he took some time to think about goal setting and what he could do over winter break to better himself and get ready for a 2025 full of change. Lanny knows that change can be hard, but that it's important to embrace change and celebrate personal growth. Like many of our students, Lanny spent Winter Break working on his reading skills, moving his body and working at some of his favorite sports, and getting a bit of a new look. To see more about Lanny’s Winter Break experience watch this video (https://youtu.be/9qMDPleB5wk) which our students previewed in class with their teachers before seeing Lanny during Thursday's morning meeting.
Big thank you to the Nayak family and to Lanny himself for their work on the video.
