Next week is teacher and staff appreciation week! We are so excited to celebrate the amazing people who dedicate their time, energy, and hearts to shaping minds, inspiring growth, and making a lasting difference every single day. Students can show their appreciation through words. Here are a few templates they can use:

May is Mental Health Awareness Month!
We wear the color green to represent this awareness! Encourage your students to wear green the week of May 5th-9th and to take part in the schoolwide activities on May 9th.
On Friday, May 9th we will take this opportunity to practice various coping strategies. Students will have the chance to visit 3 tables that will be set up outside during lunch. There will be an Affirmation Station where students can learn about affirmations and positive self-talk, a General coping strategies station where students can learn about various physical and mental coping strategies, and a Just Breathe! Station where students can learn about various breathing strategies to help their mind and body be calm. We look forward to seeing your students there!

A message from the YMCA of Silicon Valley
Dear Landels Families,
We are excited to be expanding our services at Landels in 2025-26. Working closely with Principal Dolmans and the District Office, we have received some of your specific input about our current YMCA after school program and some of the improvements you wish to see next school year. We’d love to hear from you directly and would like to invite you to come to an in-person feedback session at Landels. There will be two options:
Wednesday, May 14, 8:15-9:00 in the Landels Staff Lounge
Thursday, May 22, 8:15-9:00 in the Landels Staff Lounge
The Y Staff, Principal Dolmans, and a district office representative will be present to hear your thoughts and facilitate the conversation as needed.
If you are unable to make it but would like to provide feedback, please give us feedback using this survey.
Thank you for your continued partnership. We hope to see many of you soon!
Sincerely,
Sabrina Ippolito
Executive Director, Youth Development
YMCA of Silicon Valley
Summer Reading Books Needed!
We all know how important reading is to academic success. It is especially important for all of our students to keep up their reading over the summer. Do you have books that your family has outgrown and that you can donate to other families at Landels for summer reading? If so, please bring them to Ms. Bea in the office. She will make sure that they find a good home for the summer. All levels of books are needed. Thank you for your generosity.
📚 Last Week to Borrow Library Books: May 12–16
The week of May 12–16 will be the final opportunity for students to borrow books from the school library this year.
