Landels News

Dear Landels Families,

Thank you for your generous donations of clothing and groceries to support our families in need. Your kindness and compassion truly make a difference. We are so grateful for the way our community continues to come together to care of one another. I also want to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation to our dedicated teachers and staff, inspiring students, and supportive families - thank you for making our school a place of learning, growth, and connection. It is an honor and privilege to lead this school and I am forever grateful for your trust in me. I hope you all have a wonderful break spent with loved ones.

New Field Restrooms are Open!

The new public restrooms near the school field are now open daily during non-school hours until 30 minutes past sunset. If the restrooms are locked during these hours, the public should call the Mountain View Police Department Non-Emergency at (650) 903-6344.

This standalone restroom facility, a partnership between the District and City of Mountain View, is maintained by the City and provides a convenient option for public use after school hours. For safety reasons, it will not be open during the school day.

The restrooms will be temporarily closed for a time in the future for additional work on the door-locking mechanism. Signs will be posted with this date. Thank you for your patience during construction.

Thank you!

Message from Ms. Alina

Hello Edith Landels Families,

Prop 28 has been successfully exploring different types of media arts. Ranging from understanding Pop Art, Abstract art with lines/patterns & Mosaics. As well as hands-on creations such as Clay Donuts or 3D masks to earn a better understanding of different Hispanic cultures. Students from grades ranging from TK through 5th grade have been able to enjoy this opportunity to unleash their inner junior artists (:

Ms. Alina’s Art Lab will be displaying a variety of projects inside the MUR until December 11. Please feel free to stop by any time after school to check it out! Our students have worked diligently on gaining more knowledge in all of these amazing different crafts. I look forward to you all getting a glimpse into all the efforts put into these projects!

All the best,

Alina Aguilar

Orenda Parent Survey starts Nov. 14

As you know, we are partnering with Orenda Education to take a close, thoughtful look at what’s working for our students and where we can deepen our impact. This work centers on student learning — identifying what truly has the greatest impact for all learners in our schools. Don’t forget to look for your link to your confidential and anonymous parent survey (sent Nov. 14 by email from [email protected].) We ask that you please complete the survey by December 1. Your perspective — what is working for your child, and what could be improved — is a critical part of this process, and will help guide our ongoing efforts to strengthen teaching and learning for every student. Thank you for your partnership and support of our schools.

The MVEF Textathon Is Happening Nov. 18–23!

Help us reach our annual goal by donating today!

This week, MVEF volunteers will be reaching out to MVWSD families who haven’t yet donated — reminding them how crucial their support is. Each year, donations to MVEF sustain essential programs for all MVWSD students, including:

· Art, music, and environmental science in elementary schools

· Smaller English classes, sports teams, transportation to games, clubs and activities in middle schools

Did you know that around 90% of MVEF’s funding comes from generous families like yours? Every gift — no matter the amount — helps enrich education for every student.

Remember, donations are tax-deductible! Thank you for your continued support of MVEF and our students!
