Landels News
Dear Landels Families,
We had over 90 students participate in the Winter Reading Challenge! Thank you for encouraging your child to read every day. Next week, Landels will join over 43,000 schools participating in the Great Kindness Challenge. All students will receive a checklist with random acts of kindness. Students can turn in their completed checklist at the end of the week for a small prize, although the bigger reward comes from spreading joy and gratitude through kind acts.
In addition, families can participate in the Great Kindness Challenge by completing their own checklist at home (English, Spanish, Mandarin).
Open Enrollment
Please mark your calendars for January 20. Open enrollment for all students, including returning students, will begin on this date and remain open through February 6, 2026. Click on https://www.mvwsd.org/register for all of the details.

Keeping Landels Safe
We’ve noticed that the back gate is sometimes propped open, often to avoid going to the front office after it locks at 8:15 am. This creates a safety concern, as it allows individuals to enter campus without signing in. If you see a gate propped open, please help by closing it promptly. Thank you for helping us keep our campus secure.
Thank you!

As we begin planning for next year, we’re looking for parents and caregivers who may be interested in board positions or taking on lead roles. Please click here or email [email protected]. Many roles can be shared, all processes are well documented, and new ideas are always welcome—especially if you have an event or activity you’d love to bring to our school community.
