Class Placement
In the upcoming weeks, the Landels teachers and I will be collaborating to create class lists for the next school year. Decisions we make with regard to your child’s future placement reflect our best professional judgment as to where they will be the most successful. When grouping students, we strive to create a positive learning environment for all students and consider many factors, including academics and special needs. If there is additional information that you feel would be helpful for us to know, please fill out this survey by May 10th. Please note that we are NOT accepting requests for specific teachers.
Thank you!
Pieter Dolmans

Summer Reading Books Needed!
We all know how important reading is to academic success. It is especially important for all of our students to keep up their reading over the summer. Do you have books that your family has outgrown and that you can donate to other families at Landels for summer reading? If so, then bring them to Ms. Bea in the office. She will make sure that they find a good home for the summer. All levels of books are needed. We’ll be collecting books until Friday, May 10th. Thank you for your generosity.
Volunteer Reminder
Please remember to register in the office with your photo I.D. Unfortunately, children who do not attend our school are not able to accompany volunteers during school hours.

Host a table next week at the Multicultural Festival! Thursday, May 2, 5 - 7pm
The Landels multicultural festival is coming up in just one week, the theme is “Flavors of the world”. At this festival, students get to virtually travel the world by visiting tables that showcase different cultures /countries.
· Click here to sign up to host a table. Hosting a table does not need to be a big commitment. You can simply bring a typical cultural snack, drink, or dessert, or make a poster about your culture. Reimbursement for your expenses is available.
· “Culture” can mean many things to many people - personal identity, country, language, religion, family traditions…we want to celebrate it all! This can be as simple as sharing your family’s favorite foods or holiday traditions.
· Even if you can’t host a table, you can always volunteer to be part of this great event. We need help with set up, displaying the art show, staffing the welcome table, running the show, and clean up.
· Questions? Check the FAQ here.
“Got Talent”? Landels Multicultural Student Showcase is next week!
· The Multicultural Festival will also be a chance for the students to showcase their talents. If your student would like to perform solo or as a small group, please sign up here.
· The student showcase is not a contest and there is no age restriction for participating. Students of all genders and nationalities are welcome to join.
· Past acts have included (but are not limited to!) singing, dancing, gymnastics, musical instruments, martial arts demonstrations, juggling, and reciting poetry. Whatever your student's talent is, the wonderful Landels community will be cheering them on!
