Dear Landels Families,

It’s the last month of the 23-24 school year! It’s also Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Landels is a very diverse community - we are fortunate to have students from all over the world. I’m so excited to celebrate our AAPI families and all cultures at our Multicultural Festival tonight starting @ 5pm. See you there!

Testing

Thank you for all your support with testing. Today was the last day of state testing for our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders, unless they still need to finish one or more assessments. All students (K-5) will take their end of year iReady assessments on May 13th (Math) and 15th (Reading).

Please complete this survey if you would like your family to participate in Family Science Night on 5/8 @ 5:30. Each family will receive 1 science kit.

5th Grade Music Concerts on 5/9 @ 11am

Our students are excited to perform for you! Community School of Music and Art (CSMA) and our 5th graders will hold their end-of-year concert in order to showcase all that they have learned this year. Plan ahead! In order to view these performances, visitors will need to sign in at the office with their picture IDs.

School Site Council (SSC)

We need your help! We are still looking for 3 volunteers to be part of next year’s School Site Council. The time commitment involves approximately six 1-hour meetings during the school year at an agreed upon day and time. The term for the newly elected members will begin the first meeting of the next school year (late August or early September). If you are interested in running to be a member of our SSC, please complete this Self-Nomination Google Form by Friday, May 10th. More information about SSC can be found here

Thank you!

Summer Reading Books Needed!

We all know how important reading is to academic success. It is especially important for all of our students to keep up their reading over the summer. Do you have books that your family has outgrown and that you can donate to other families at Landels for summer reading? If so, then bring them to Ms. Bea in the office. She will make sure that they find a good home for the summer. All levels of books are needed. We’ll be collecting books until Friday, May 10th. Thank you for your generosity.
